Leopard Lady

It has been a crazy week, some personal things have come up that I've been dealing with, and I'm just taking them on one at a time, learning as I go. I'm finding for my friends and I, we seem to be reaching that age where life-changing decisions are becoming almost common place. It's a strange but exciting time, blossoming into full adulthood in this thing we call life, which unfortunately did not come with an instruction manual.

That being said, life and fashion must go on!  The weather has still been very back and forth here, but we have the occasional beautiful day. I had been coveting the Current/Elliot leopard print jeans for some time, when I spotted this amazing knockoff pair from Target last summer! For a fraction of the price, you can't even tell the difference, and I get compliments constantly. One of my favourite examples of looking great and fashionable on any budget!

Tough Love

Yesterday I got hit hard with the flu, it's that time of year I guess. I was feeling fine this weekend though, and felt like wearing something a bit more dramatic. Enter, red lips! They always up the ante on any outfit. I bought this great spiked camo & vegan leather jacket at Forever 21 recently, which is so tough, that I wanted to soften it a bit with this flowy maxi dress. Add a messy sock bun on top, and you have a look that's tough but still very feminine.

How do you like to mix it up?

Pretty in Print

Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians! It's been such a beautiful weekend, yesterday the bf and I walked all along The Junction, checking out the neat boutiques. One of my favorite finds was this adorable little shop called The Beau & Bauble. They had so many cool things packed into their small space, one of my favorites being this table full of Day of the Dead goodies (below). Check out their  Facebook page here for more pictures.  I have to go back soon for a closer look at their girly & ghoulish offerings.

I was making space in my closet this weekend when I rediscovered this cute deer print dress from H&M I bought last year, but never wore. I'm glad I did because I feel in love with it all over again!  I added my orange Tory Burch flats to give the outfit some needed colour for spring.  It was perfect for our long stroll through the neighborhood.

Happy long weekend everyone!

Lace Details

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know there is major drama happening with a possible video of our mayor Rob Ford doing some shady stuff. If this is true, this guy is just the gift that keeps on giving for comedians. I hate that he is representing our great city, but I'll be breaking out the popcorn to see how this juicy scandal plays out.  Also, about 5 mins ago we had a small earthquake, so this has been quite the dramatic 24 hours for Toronto!

Back to fashion, it's beautiful here again, which means dress weather! I love the delicate lace back of this silk Free People dress, it's so easy, breezy. I got creative with my nails and did a cute white leopard print on hot pink (tutorial to come), and added some pretty jewelry to round out this girly look.

So excited for the long weekend, what are your plans?

California Dreamin'

I'm starting to feel like a broken record with this Canadian weather.  Last week everyone is wearing shorts, this weekend we get hail!  In May!  It's finally starting to warm up again slowly, but if it snows again, I'll need a warm vacation.

These pictures were obviously snapped during warmer days, I grabbed this amazing snakeprint maxi dress on super sale at Macy's in Vegas last year. So happy I did, as it's perfect for those hot summer days, effortless & glam. I added neon yellow aviators to give it a unique edge, a cool change from your typical oversize sunnies + maxi look.

Looking forward to the long weekend and brighter days!

Doloris Petunia

One of my favorite sites to browse for unique treasures is Etsy. It's like having a huge artisan market in your backyard. There are so many original and interesting pieces to find, and best of all, by doing so you are supporting an independent artist. In today's age, with the funding of the arts disappearing, this is especially important for young artists.

One of the best shops I've discovered on Etsy is jewelry brand Doloris Petunia. If you're looking for glamour, bright colours, and one of a kind statement pieces, you've come to the right place. Not only do they make possibly the most stunning flower girl dresses I have ever seen, but they also make Gatsby-esque headpieces, giant neon crystal necklaces, crystal embellished clutches, and more. My personal favourite is their original Swarovski Crystal friendship bracelet. If you're going to rock a friendship bracelet, what better way to do so than with Swarovski Crystals?! Doloris Petunia also take custom orders, so you can make whatever your heart desires, and have it be truly you.

See a small selection below and after the jump, then check out the shop here  and let us know what you think!

Collab Alert - Phillip Lim 3.1 for Target Announced!

Yesterday, frugal fashionistas scored a huge coup.  Target officially announced its collaboration with minimalist fashion genius Phillip Lim.  Anyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with the designer collaboration lines from Target and H&M, and as a lover of Phillip Lim, I could not be more excited!!  The 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection for women and men will be available September 15th at most Target stores and The  limited edition collection features a range of apparel and accessories, including shoes, bags and travel accessories.
“Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution,” said Phillip Lim. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire – one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.”
We can expect to see “classic fall palette of neutral tones and prints,” the collection features more than 100 items and ranges in price from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories. Standout pieces include bags, dresses and a trench coat for women, and shoes and a leather moto jacket for men. Travel accessories, such as a duffle and multipurpose pouches for women and men, will also be included in the collection.

September 15th seems a long ways away from now, so in the meantime we'll have to bide ourselves with this teaser video and sketches from Target (after the jump).  Can't wait to see how the collection will turn out!  What do you think, are you excited about this latest Target designer pairing?

Denim & Leather

Words can't express how happy I am that Spring is finally here. Flowers are sprouting, birds are chirping, patios are overflowing, and everyone is in a great mood! It also means dresses and skirts are being worn in abundance, and I've definitely joined in. Denim & leather are two of my favorite things to wear, and they aren't just for Fall & Winter. My mom bought me this great vintage snakeskin bag as a gift, I thought it really pulled the look together with my vintage jewelry for a cool mix of old and new. Summer is sneaking up fast, how are you enjoying your Spring so far?

Met Gala 2013 - Best Dressed

Enough of the bad, let's get to the good stuff! While there was a lot of wtf happening at the ball, some stars really worked it out Met Gala style. I'm sure some of my choices are going to be controversial, but here are my best dressed of the night:

I absolutely adore Kate Bosworth's Balmain gown, the fabric looks so luxurious, and I am in love with the colours!

I thought Katy Perry really rocked it out in her Dolce & Gabbana dress, my only wish is that they had made it shorter for her.  It's a bit overwhelming on her frame this long, but I thought she killed it overall!

There's way more Met Gala fashion to check out, after the jump!

Met Gala 2013: Worst Dressed

Last night was the night fashion diehards wait for every year, the Met Gala 2013. The creme de la creme of fashion & entertainment gather for Vogue's annual big bash and try to outdo one another in their fabulous outfits. This year's theme was 'PUNK: Chaos to Couture', which got me very excited, and it really made for some interesting choices from stars trying to incorporate the theme into their look. That being said, there was a whole lot of NO going on last night.  The worst trends I noticed were pant-dresses (really?!?), slutty black cutouts, and futuristic eye makeup. There were so many to choose from, but here are my worst dressed of the night:

I absolutely love Nicole Richie's whole look from the hair down, but that hair!  What was she thinking, she looks like a mad scientist!! Ugh, ruined such a beautiful look!

Somebody needs to stage an intervention for Madonna.  Girl, I'm going to get real here for a moment.  You have MAYBE 5 years left of being "sexy" (some would argue 0 years), you really need to transition your image into something more mature to suit that!  Look at Helen Mirren, the woman is in her 60s and always looks banging, without looking like a teenage grandma slut.  Please stop.

Prepare yourself for Beyonce, pant dresses, and many more horrors after the jump:

Rocket Queen

I think it is finally safe to say, winter is out of here! This past week and weekend have been beyond beautiful, I wish it would stay like this forever. I suspect the humid summer will be hitting us sooner rather than later, but I'll take this while I can get it. Had a very full weekend this week, I went down to London, ON Friday night til Saturday evening to spend the day with some family. I hardly ever get to see them anymore in Toronto, so I was loving it. Got my Mother's Day shopping done, started cleaning up the balcony, and took a long stroll with the bf yesterday, exploring areas we hadn't checked out before. I was rocking one of my new favourite dresses, this pointelle knit from Moon Apparel. Mixed with some short boots and a fringe bag, it makes me feel like a rock n roll gypsy, and I love it!

How have you been enjoying the sunshine?

Guess Who's Back

As you may or may not have noticed, I've been gone far too long! My apologies for the wait, but with work and the Winter That Would Not End, things got a little hectic! But alas, the sun is shining, spring has finally arrived! I have some cool things in store for the blog coming up soon, can't wait to share them with you.

This past weekend, the bf and I took the poochy out for playtime at the dog park at Earlscourt Park. So happy to FINALLY be able to wear my spring clothes and go without a jacket when walking Scully. This Prabal Gurung for Target top makes me think of a summer acid trip, I love it! Bring on the heat!
